About this objectMedallion issued by the Victorian Government and distributed by the City of Sandringham Council to all state school children in the City, commemorating the Coronation in 1911 of King George V and Queen Mary.
The medallion depicts the heads of George V and Mary looking to the left; around them the inscription, ‘KING GEORGE V & QUEEN MARY’. On the reverse, the Victorian coat of arms under ‘VICTORIA’, around which the inscription, ‘TO COMMEMORATE THEIR MAJESTIES’ CORONATION JUNE 22, 1911′. It has a ring for a ribbon to be attached.
