Name/TitleFlorist open during lockdown, selling from rope barrier at entrance
About this objectNon-essential retail outlets had to close during Melbourne’s COVID-19 lockdowns. Other retail shops were only available for delivery or contactless click and collect. This was the pattern in all of Melbourne’s lockdowns.
The photo shows arrangements put in place by Simply Flowers, Hampton Street, Hampton, during Melbourne’s sixth lockdown. Customers were not allowed in the shop, which was cordoned off by a rope barrier. Purchases could be made from the barrier. The florist can be seen wearing a mask. At the time, masks were mandatory for Melburnians aged 12 and over whenever leaving home, subject to limited exemptions.
