Name/TitleToybox Tales, Hampton, open but only able to trade outside
About this objectNon-essential retail outlets had to close during Melbourne’s COVID-19 lockdowns. Other retail shops were only available for delivery or contactless click and collect. This was the pattern in all of Melbourne’s lockdowns.
When Melbourne came out of the sixth lockdown in October 2021, for the first week non-essential retail could only trade outdoors. The photo was taken at the start of that week, showing the A-frame sign set up by Toybox Tales, Hampton Street, Hampton. It reaffirms customers cannot enter but encourages then to come to the door, or contact the shop by phone/online.
