Name/TitleCOVID-safe entry arrangements, Sandringham Sports Physio
About this objectThe regulations for allied health providers varied during Melbourne’s COVID-19 lockdowns. Practitioners were open during the first lockdown. During the subsequent lockdowns usually routine treatment was not permitted but critical clinical care could be given where telehealth services were not clinically appropriate. Later in Melbourne’s second lockdown more face-to-face appointments were permitted.
Practitioners put in place COVID-safe practices, such as increased hygiene, staggering appointments to minimise patients in waiting rooms, temperature checking patients, and requiring them to sanitise their hands on arrival. Some asked clients to wait outside and contact the receptionist by telephone on arrival; they then stayed outside until the practitioner was ready to see them.
The photos show the arrangements put in place by Bayside Sports Physio, Sandringham, at a time when the restrictions had eased during the second lockdown. Their notice advises of infection control measures and steps to ensure social distancing.
