Name/TitleGallipoli Memorial Garden, Hampton RSL
About this objectImages showing the Gallipoli Memorial Garden in the grounds of Hampton RSL. The Garden was officially unveiled on 16 April 2022 and was developed jointly with Friends of Gallipoli Inc. to remember the 92 fallen Diggers from Bayside. The names of all 92 Diggers are etched on steel plaques fixed on ten rocks, representing the cemeteries at Gallipoli where they are buried. The rocks are in a V continuum simulating the elevation of cemeteries that rise from the shores of Anzac Cove up to the highest peak at Lone Pine.
Image PD3394-1 shows a map of the battlefield. The rocks are visible in the other images. Ray Nilsson is shown in PD3394-3, and Jan Withers in PD3394-5 and -6.
