Professor Ian Clark will speak on his research into indigenous history in the local area.
Professor Clark has a doctorate in Aboriginal historical geography from Monash University. He has been researching and publishing in Victorian Aboriginal history since 1982. He has been the manager of the Brambuk Aboriginal Cultural Centre in Halls Gap, and research fellow in history at the Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies in Canberra; and recently took early retirement from Federation University Australia in Ballarat where he was a Professor of Tourism Management. He is currently a Professor (Research) in the Monash Indigenous Studies Centre, Monash University, Clayton, and Adjunct Professor at Federation University.
